Women’s Day Celebration at Woodstock Brewery
The Woodstock Brewery is hosting a special Women’s Day celebration to honour females in music and the community as a whole.
This event promises to be a night of live music, unique brews and a good cause.
The festivities will kick off at 6pm with a beer launch, tastings and expert talks. It will be followed by performances from Rock Steady at 7.30pm, We Kill Cowboys at 9pm and Not a She at 10pm.
Rock Steady, a dynamic five-piece rock cover band from the Mother City, is led by Sharyn Seidel. The rest of the group includes Colin Plit, Pam Levesque, Josh Buchalter and Damian Rijkers. Their Women’s Day performance, featuring musician Dara Beth, is set to energise the crowd.
Meanwhile, We Kill Cowboys, a four-piece ensemble led by Alex Muller as well as fellow band members Mornay Carstens, Miggs Auer and Andrew Middelkoop, will deliver a raw mix of psychedelic rock, punk and grunge.
In addition, Not a She, the other stage name for the vibrant musician DJ Hluma, will bring her Afro-deep and tech sounds which are inspired by South African dance rhythms, to the events.
A portion of the proceeds from beer and ticket sales will be donated to Lovestruck, an organisation which supports women in need in the Woodstock and District Six areas.
Guests can also enjoy Woodstock Brewery’s award-winning craft beers, a variety of cocktails, wines as well as renowned slow-cooked and smoked food offerings.

EARTHBOX - Women's Day Watercolour Workshop
On Women’s Day, join this special event, which celebrates the strength, resilience and beauty of women through a unique collaboration between renowned Cape Town-based artist, photographer and art director, Jacques Mollentze and EARTHBOX, who are renowned for their immersive art installation offerings.
This inspiring workshop combines the arts of watercolour painting and journalling.
Mollentze’s latest piece, "God is Women," will serve as the inspiration for this event. This artwork pays tribute to the divine feminine energy present in all women as it emphasises their power and grace. Participants are set to explore the themes of this piece while learning new artistic techniques.
Under his expert guidance, attendees will discover the versatility of watercolour in capturing life’s adventures and preserving meaningful moments.
The workshop will provide valuable skills in documenting memories and stories through vibrant and expressive art. Participants will learn how to transform everyday experiences into stunning works of art.
“This event is not just an art class but a celebration of women’s experiences and the unique perspectives they bring to the world,” the organisers said.
“It’s an opportunity for women to come together, express themselves creatively and reflect on the powerful feminine energy that shapes our lives.”

Baddie Burlesque Show
Get ready for a night like no other as Oh, Baby! Productions brings you the Baddie Burlesque Show, an anything-goes, NSFW (Not Safe For Work) burlesque experience with no themes, style restrictions or rules.
The show welcomes performers of all experience levels, from fresh-faced Burly Babies to seasoned Burly Legends.
Happening bi-monthly in Observatory, this is the ultimate stage where burlesque boundaries are tested, envelopes are pushed and glass ceilings are shattered, the organisers believe.
“Expect a wild variety of burlesque styles—from classic and comedic to political,” they said.
“Anything can and will happen in this intimate, no-holds-barred setting.”
They added that this is an inclusive event, which welcomes individuals of all genders and orientations.
“Racism, sexism, xenophobia, homophobia, or transphobia will not be tolerated.”
Seating is unreserved and limited. Attendees are also urged to arrive earlier and to enjoy a meal from the theatre’s menu.
