Lwah Ndlunkulu, fondly known as Lwandile Mtshali, continues her meteoric rise in the music industry, celebrating an astounding four nominations at the upcoming South African Music Awards (SAMAs).
The announcement, which ignited waves of excitement within the entertainment industry, recognised Mtshali in four prestigious categories: Best Music Video for her emotive single “Ngiyeza”, Best Afro Pop Album for her debut project “Imizwa”, Best Female Artist, and Best Newcomer.
The nominations highlight her growing influence in Afro-pop, showcasing her distinctive sound and heartfelt lyrics, earning her a place among the country’s musical elite.
As she revels in her SAMA nominations, the music star urged her fans to continue supporting her journey by voting in the upcoming awards, solidifying the bond she shares with her growing fanbase.
“Ngithanda ukunibonga nonke ngothando lwenu nokungxasa kulomgcimbi esinayo shwele,'” she said.
Also making waves in the SANTAM Newcomer of the Year category, Lwah Ndlunkulu faces fierce competition from stand-out female artists like Tyla, renowned for her self-titled album, and Sykes, celebrated for her release “Most Wanted”. These women, along with male nominees Die Piesangskille, Johan Balt, and Joliza, underscore a robust and diverse representation in this year’s nominations.

With anticipation building for the gala event, global star Tyla was also announced to be reigning supreme with a striking five nominations.
The nominees’ event set an exhilarating tone for the historic 30-year celebration of South Africa’s most coveted music award ceremony, scheduled to take place at the Gallagher Convention Centre in Midrand on November 2.
