Durban - The Oceans Umhlanga Project has added a new feature to its luxury apartments and shopping mall.

The Radisson Blu Hotel which was launched at the Oyster Box in Umhlanga is Radisson’s first foray into KwaZulu-Natal.

The hotel which catapults the total investment of the Umhlanga Project to R3.8-billion will welcome its first guests in 2019.

Amongst its features the hotel will offer over 200 rooms, an all-day-dining restaurant, a presidential suit and Islamic compliant facilities.

Vivian Reddy, Oceans Umhlanga Development Company Chairperson, says that the project will bring much needed employment opportunities in KwaZulu-Natal and that “even ordinary South Africans will have a chance to say they were a part of this prominent project”.

Reddy continues: “We will create a scheme where someone with even R1000 can purchase shares. The greatest thrill for me will be the day when an average worker can point to our building and proudly tell his children that he is a shareholder in one of South Africa’s most iconic and prestigious developments”.

Among the guests at the launch were newly appointed KwaZulu-Natal Premier, Willies Mchunu, Finance Minister Belinda Scott, Miss SA Nthandoyenkosi Kunene and Mike Mabuyakhulu.
