KLM Royal Dutch Airlines has announced it will continue its daily flights to Johannesburg and Cape Town, two crucial hubs in South Africa. Beginning December 17, 2024, the airline will increase its capacity to Cape Town by introducing two additional weekly flights on Tuesdays and Sundays. This expansion comes just in time for the busy December travel season, as travellers flock to the Southern Hemisphere's summer destinations. Cape Town, a vibrant city renowned for its stunning landscapes and thriving tourism sector, attracts both leisure and business visitors from around the world, making KLM’s enhanced service a strategic move to meet rising demand.

The new service, Flight KL595/596, will complement the existing Flight KL597/598, which arrives in Cape Town at 9:30pm and departs at 11:20pm. The new flight will arrive at 6:10am and depart at 8:05am on Mondays and Wednesdays, making it easier for travellers to maximize their time in the city.

This initiative aims to cater to both business and leisure travellers seeking new adventures during the winter months.

“We’re excited to provide our customers with more options to reach Cape Town, a destination that is increasingly popular among both business and leisure travellers,” said a KLM spokesperson.

KLM's extensive global network spans 155 destinations, including 89 within Europe and 66 intercontinental routes. The airline recently added Portland, Oregon, to its American destinations.

Furthermore, KLM’s new A321neo aircraft will be operational on select European routes, such as Copenhagen, Berlin, and Stockholm, enhancing the flying experience.

“Our new Premium Comfort class available on all Boeing 787 and 777 aircraft ensures that our passengers can travel in style and comfort,” the spokesperson added.

The airline’s parent company, Air France-KLM, has also expanded its offerings by introducing six new destinations, including Manila. With enhanced direct flight options from both Paris and Amsterdam, travel convenience has reached new heights.

“Our collaboration with transatlantic partners like Delta Air Lines and Virgin Atlantic creates a seamless travel experience for our customers,” noted the spokesperson.

This enhanced winter schedule not only expands routes but also increases connectivity, ensuring that travellers enjoy comfort and convenience throughout their journeys. As KLM continues to adapt to the evolving travel landscape, the airline remains committed to providing exceptional service and expanded travel opportunities this winter season.
